Taking part in any activity that increases our heart rate & stimulates our muscles is essential to our Wellbeing.
As with the world we live in, we are not designed to stay still, if we do we stagnate,
our blood pools & cannot circulate oxygen & nutrients properly
our internal cleaning system (lymphatic) relies on movement to remove waste & dead cells to make way for new healthy cells and our digestive muscles need stimulation to keep things 'moving'....

our muscles waste without stimulation
and our brains need all of these processes to occur in order be able to think 'clearly' & produce the body chemicals that control all of our mind-body processes....
our mood stability, memory, ability to think clearly, cope with stress and the demands placed upon us in life.
Physical activity comes with preconceptions....you don't have to be red-faced, struggling for breath if you don't want to, it doesn't matter what fitness 'gear' you have or what you look like in it, if you lift weights you won't look 'bulky' unless that is the goal....exercise can be tailored for your own personal use and enjoyment....yes, ENJOYMENT!
Have you ever stepped up to the tee and realised that you are overthinking your stance?
Have you felt anxious?
Do you feel the need to 'perform'
....to succeed?
....or have you had a bad experience while participating in your favourite sport / activity?
Negative experiences can lead to the storage of tension in the musculoskeletal system, making sub-par performance and injury more likely.
Utilising a combination of
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing
(EMDR) and breathwork techniques
you can relax and regain control of
the mind-body-nervous system
and regain natural, fluid performance
in your chosen field.

How can therapy help me achieve Peak Performance?

Past dips in performance, stress, negative experiences and environmental factors such as noise or crowds, can contribute to feelings of apprehension, pressure and nervous tension.

When we are apprehensive, under pressure to perform, nervous or preoccupied, even subtly, our muscles will tense and movement will be stilted, meaning that movement becomes more forced and difficult.

Stilted movement can increase chances of injury as we are working at odds with our musculoskeletal system, while increases in stress hampers our judgement and logical analytical brain regions, which judge distance, speed and spatial awareness, as they go 'offline' in favour of emotion and stress brain regions, meaning we can misjudge our actions.

EMDR therapy can reprocess past negative experiences and cease their effect on our nervous system in the present moment, while emotional intelligence and breathwork techniques can help you regain control of your mind-body-nervous system and increase your performance.
